Hi
Ever had a cold that knocked you on your butt? Yeah, not nice. I’m on my fourth bottle of cold medicine. It’s a weird cold, I’m not stuffed up or sneezing, I’m congested, hot, sweaty, cold and achy. And now I sound like a big baby, which I totally am because its been almost two weeks and I’m still sick. That’s what I get for making fun of Todd when he was sick. But he was a total sook.

Frankly I’m a mess. I know this because my friend Glenda said so. She dropped by last week just as I was finishing up the painting of the base cabinets and trying my best to put the house back together. Sporting my black eye, coughing, sweating, dusty and full of paint she says I need a bit of a make over. It’s true. I had dyed my hair a shade to dark the day before in an attempt to cover my gray. I had on my painting clothes and I was coughing up a storm. She thinks about four hundred dollars should fix me right up. That’s for hair, nails, a good waxing of the ole eye brows and maybe a few fake eye lashes. I’m not sure. Todd says maybe more is needed as I had to actually cut gobs of paint out of my hair the other day in order to leave the house while smelling like paint thinner from trying to remove primer from my hands.

So where does that leave the kitchen? Well, it’s starting to shape up. The base cabinets are finished, both inside and out. I put everything back in place and life in the kitchen is in better working order. I purged as I went. I’m really trying to get rid of the crap I’m not using. The doors and drawers however haven’t been touched. Sanding was causing coughing fits so I had to stop. I am hoping to get back at those soon.

The counter tops have been ordered. They will take three weeks to get here, crappy but we live on an island and the weather has been bad so there is a back up with the ferries. The tile for the back splash has been purchased. The hardware has been decided but we are still going back and forth on the lighting. I am hoping to have that figured out soon I just need to visit a few more places.

And once the walls and ceiling get painted white, the lights changed, the back splash and countertop installed along with the doors and new hardware it’ll look awesome.

Cheers
